Because each piece is individually repurposed, we can often customise your jewellery to suit you. We may be able to make a chain longer or shorter, thicker or finer, or transform one style of jewellery into another - for example, a choker charm into a belt charm or a pendant into a bracelet.

Many customisations can be made at no additional cost, depending on the request.

Preserve the beauty of your jewellery by storing each piece separately,  in a dry and humidity-free environment. 

Keep your jewellery sparkling by polishing it regularly with a microfiber cloth or a specialised jewellery polishing cloth to eliminate tarnish and restore its shine. 

Avoid exposure to chemicals, perfumes, lotions, hand sanitiser, chlorine, and saltwater to maintain the integrity of your jewellery. 

We recommend applying your lotions and perfumes, allowing them to absorb into the skin and dry, prior to putting on your jewellery. 

We advise removing your jewellery before sleeping, bathing, showering  or swimming. 

Please note that as the designer components are pre-loved and often vintage, care is needed to preserve the beauty of your jewels.

At The Vintage Secret, our jewellery is made from a combination of high quality gold filled, sterling silver, rhodium plated, ternary alloy plated and gold plated chains and findings. These will not tarnish if taken care properly. 

Our pearl necklaces are made with fresh-water pearls, hand-strung on silk thread. Our pearl drops are shell pearls, which are man-made using mother-of-pearl.

We use these materials to ensure our jewellery is affordable yet high quality. 

All products are free from nickel and lead.

Every designer component we repurpose is authentic.

We carefully source genuine, pre-loved designer pieces and have each original component authenticated before it is repurposed into one of our designs.

We don’t provide a physical authenticity certificate with every order. However, a copy of the authentication certificate for the original designer component is available on the individual product listing on our website, so you can view the provenance of your piece before purchasing. Copies are also available on request.

We are committed to authenticity, quality and transparency. When you purchase a piece from The Vintage Secret, you can feel confident knowing that the designer component has been authenticated before beginning its new life as jewellery.

Every purchase of The Vintage Secret Jewellery from our online store and boutiques is accompanied by a 3-month warranty. This warranty is valid starting from the date of purchase and extends to cover manufacturing faults and defects in materials.

Upon assessment and confirmation of a fault by our team, we will provide a repair or replacement for the item. It's important to note that wear and tear resulting from normal use is not considered a fault. The Vintage Secret Jewellery pieces are delicate and should be handled with care, as detailed in the product care card included with your order.

Please be aware that this warranty excludes loss of jewellery, chain breakage, and general wear and tear. General wear and tear encompasses the natural tarnishing and fading of plated jewelry and is therefore not covered by the warranty.

Repairs requested beyond the initial 3-month warranty period will incur a minor repair fee, and the cost of return postage will be the responsibility of the customer.

For all warranty claims, proof of purchase is mandatory.
